PTFE filter bag in industrial use

PTFE Filter Bags: Application Limits and Replacement Review

PTFE filter bags may be considered for demanding combinations of temperature and chemical exposure. Selection must distinguish between full-PTFE media and a PTFE membrane laminated to another base material.

Full PTFE vs. PTFE Membrane

A full-PTFE bag uses PTFE fiber and supporting construction selected for the application. A membrane bag uses a thin PTFE membrane over polyester, PPS, fiberglass or another substrate. The complete bag follows the thermal and chemical limits of its base media, scrim, finish and construction.

Performance Claims Require Project Data

PTFE media does not automatically guarantee a fixed filtration efficiency, emission value, energy reduction or service life. Results depend on media grade, membrane quality, construction, installation, collector condition and operation. Any target should be reviewed against the project specification and available test method.
